Message from The President

Dear Supporters of the Old Peninsula Football Club,

I hope this message finds you well, filled with the same passion and dedication that has defined our beloved club throughout the years. As President of Old Peninsula Football Club for the past five years, it is with mixed emotions that I write to inform you of my decision to step down from my role at the end of this season.

Season 2023 has seen a young and maturing Senior side take a huge step forward under the leadership of Senior Coach Peter Williamson. With Peter locked in for 2024 I am genuinely excited about the opportunity that the playing group has in front of them for the upcoming season. Couple this with the reignition of the Under 19 program under the tutelage of recently appointed Coach brad Sykes, and the club is in a fantastic position to have a successful 2024 and beyond.

Off field, the committee have worked to strengthen our relationship with Peninsula Grammar, whilst engaging with supporters, family and friends to build our club into the family friendly environment in which we have thrived in years gone by.

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to each and every one of you who have supported me and the club during my tenure. Together, we have achieved a lot to forge unforgettable memories, and whilst the on-field performance may not have been as successful as other times over the past 5 years, I believe that we have witnessed the growth of our club both on and off the field. The unwavering support, loyalty, and commitment from our supporters have been the driving force behind our successes.

However, after careful consideration and reflection, I believe that it is time for a fresh perspective and new leadership to guide the club into the future. The decision to step down was not an easy one, as Old Peninsula holds a special place in my heart. I have cherished every moment spent in this role and will forever be grateful for the opportunity to serve as your President.

As I prepare to pass the torch, my primary objective is to ensure a smooth transition and a promising future for Old Peninsula Football Club. Therefore, I invite all passionate individuals who share the vision and dedication to take our club to new heights to consider applying for the position of President in 2024. This is an incredible opportunity to make a lasting impact on the club, and I am confident that we have talented individuals within our community who are more than capable of leading us into the next chapter.

I encourage interested candidates to reach out to myself to express their interest and discuss the responsibilities and requirements associated with the role. The position of President requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of the club's values, and a commitment to the development and well-being of our players, staff, and supporters, as well as the ability to bring people together for a common cause.

To the future President of Old Peninsula Football Club, I offer my full support and assurance that you will have a community of passionate individuals standing alongside you every step of the way. Our club has a rich history, a strong foundation, and an incredible potential waiting to be realised. I have no doubt that under new leadership, Old Peninsula will continue to thrive and make our supporters proud and achieve the ultimate success that we have all been chasing. I still look forward to being a part of future successes, albeit in a lesser capacity.

Finally, I would like to express my gratitude to the players, coaching staff, committee members, volunteers, and sponsors who have been the backbone of this club. Your unwavering commitment and tireless efforts have been instrumental in our success, and I am honoured to have worked alongside you all.

Thank you again for your support throughout the years. It has been an absolute privilege to serve as your President, and I am confident that Old Peninsula Football Club will continue to flourish and achieve greatness in the years to come.

Yours sincerely,
